How does Korea Express calculate the volumetric weight:

If the dimensional weight of the package exceeds its actual weight, the dimensional weight needs to be calculated as the billable weight.

The company stipulates that when the volume of the goods is small and the weight is large, it shall be calculated according to the actual weight; when the volume of the goods is large and the weight is small, it shall be calculated according to the volume. In centralized consignment, a batch of goods is composed of several different goods, including light and heavy goods. The billable weight is measured by the gross weight or volume of the entire shipment, whichever is higher.

Dimensional weight is a method within the transportation industry to calculate the weight of light-bubble goods. The volume weight is the weight of the goods that can be obtained by using the conversion formula for the volume of the goods. Weight is in kilograms (kg).

When the weight converted by the volume of the goods is greater than the actual weight of the goods, it is generally calculated according to the volume weight.

When the weight converted from the volume of the goods is less than the actual weight of the goods, it will be calculated according to the actual weight.

Volume weight calculation formula = length cm × width cm × height cm/6000 (our company implements the standard).

However, according to the current air transport operation specifications, most express companies will calculate according to length cm × width cm × height cm/5000.

After conversion, it is generally a comparison of 1 square cargo and 167 kg. If the ratio is less than 167, it is calculated by volume. vice versa.

Length (cm cm) X width (cm cm) X height (cm cm) / 5000 = volumetric weight in kilograms.

Generally not afraid of falling and soft items (such as clothing, bags, plush toys) can be packaged in plastic bags (PAK bags) to reduce transportation costs, but pay attention to sealing.
